Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata)

Benefits: Western red cedar essential oil can be used in very small amounts in soaps and candles. This is a very powerful oil, when well diluted and used in “wash off” products such as soaps or shampoos, it is said to provide anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

It can be used in cleaners to help repel molds. This essential oil can also be used in insect sprays and is used as an alternative for mothballs by adding it to wood chips or cotton balls and placing in closets or dressers away from clothing.
