Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata)
WARNING: This essential oil has a very high thujone content which is known as a neurotoxin. Never ingest. Never use directly on skin.
Like all of our essential oils, our western red cedar essential oil is 100% pure with no fillers or additives.
Benefits: Western red cedar essential oil can be used in very small amounts in soaps and candles. This is a very powerful oil, when well diluted and used in “wash off” products such as soaps or shampoos, it is said to provide anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.
It can be used in cleaners to help repel molds. This essential oil can also be used in insect sprays and is used as an alternative for mothballs by adding it to wood chips or cotton balls and placing in closets or dressers away from clothing.
